Ekiti Voters: If You Must Sell Your Vote, Do It For N864,000 - Controversial Charly Boy Tell Voters

Controversial Charles Oputa, the Convener OurMumuDonDo Movement, warned Ekiti electorate against selling their votes in Saturday’s governorship election.

Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, urged Ekiti people to shun every politician or political party that offers them money to influence their ballots, saying “they are the real enemies of democracy and good governance”.

However, he said if they must sell their votes, then they must insist on N864,000.

“This is because the minimum wage in Nigeria today is N18,000, and when you multiply N18,000 by 48 months, which is the total number of months that constitute a single tenure of a governor, you will arrive at N864,000,” he explained.

“You must bear in mind that any politician or political party that gives you less than N864,000 to influence your ballot is simply trying to short-change you, and you must ignore them.

If you cannot get N864,000 as the cost of selling your vote, then do not sell your vote at all. Rather, look for a candidate that has the capacity, competence, and character of serving you well and making Ekiti State better for everyone.”
